Make Talbina with me… Some studies have shown this simple Arabic dish can improve mood, relieve stress, boost brain function and support the immune system. It is over 1400 years old and known as a ‘Sunnah’ in the Islamic faith, which means the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to eat it. RECIPE This recipe makes one bowl of Talbina. Double the servings for two people and so on. INGREDIENTS 2-3 tablespoons barley flour 250ml milk (you can use any milk, I am using whole milk) 1-2 teaspoons of honey (to taste) To garnish: 1-3 Palestinian Medjool dates & a handful of almond flakes METHOD 1. Add barley flour and milk to a sauce pan (make sure it is one with non stick coating intact or you will burn it) 2. Put on a medium heat 3. Stir continuously until the mixture thickens (I like to use a whisk) 4. Once the mixture has thickened, remove from heat. 5. Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey to sweeten 6. Mix (I like to then use a whisk) 7. Pour into a bowl 8. Chop dates into thirds 9. Sprinkle dates and almond flakes on top to garnish Other garnish ideas: chopped walnuts, pistachio, fruit Have you heard of Talbina before? #Recipe #sunnah #talbina #halal #recipesoftiktok

Make Halal Roast Chicken With Me… A British classic that everyone loves in 60 minutes. Recipe: Ingredients 1 whole chicken (this is a medium corn fed chicken I got from Al halal butchers) 1 onion 1 lemon Carrots Potatoes 2-3 cloves garlic Butter (I used betroli butter) 250ml hot water Rosemary Thyme Paprika Himalayan salt Pepper Method: 1. Partially melt butter (you could do this in the microwave - do not melt it completely you want to soften) 2. Add thyme, rosemary, salt and pepper to the butter and mix 3. Pour and rub the buttery marinade over the chicken, under the chicken and under the skin - you will need to separate the skin from the chicken to do this. 4. Add more salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary and paprika, massage and rub into the chicken 5. Chop your veggies, potatoes and lemon 6. Marinade your potatoes in butter, add salt and pepper 7. Add 200-250ml water to your pot (if you’re using a normal air fryer skip this step unless it allows it - I’m using a ninja 9 in 1 cooker on the air crisp setting) 8. Add your potatoes, then veggies and chicken to the pot 9. Cook on 190c for 60 minutes 10. Cut and serve the chicken - If you didn’t add water to your mix, everything will be ready to serve but I drained the potatoes and veggies and cooked them on the air crisp setting for another 10 mins at 200c. … Add gravy and serve! ✨ There’s so many ways to cook a roast chicken, some times I’ve done it in a bag in the oven or in a slow cooker. There’s no right or wrong way. How do you make your roast chicken? Have you tried this way before? #halal #chicken #cooking #CookingHacks #roastchicken

Make halal chicken foot bone broth with me… This recipe is great if you’ve been feeling under the weather and need more nutrients. It’s fantastic for immune system, skin, hair, nails, joints, heart health… the list goes on! RECIPE Ingredients 1kg chicken feet 1 onion chopped 1 stick of celery chopped 2-3 cloves garlic chopped Turmeric Thyme Apple cider vinegar (with Mother) Himalayan salt Black pepper Method 1. Wash the chicken feet thoroughly (I use filtered water) 2. Boil chicken feet on a medium heat for 2-3 minutes 3. Drain and rinse in cold water 4. Trim tips of toes (remove nails) you can use scissors or a knife for this 5. Preheat oven on a high heat (200c) 6. Pop chicken feet on a baking tray and roast for 20 mins on high 7. Add roasted CF to the bottom of your pressure cooker 8. Add chopped veg, salt, pepper, thyme, turmeric 9. Add apple cider vinegar (I just do a large swig - 2 tablespoons or more) 10. Add hot water to cover (don’t add too much water just a nice covering of all the ingredients is enough) 11. Put on high to pressure cook for 2-3 hours… I did 3 hours (you don’t really want to do much longer with this if you’re using a pressure cooker for chicken) 12. Release the pressure (allow 10-15 mins) 13. Use a fine sieve to strain (I like to remove everything from my broth) 14. Decant into containers (glass and bpa free plastic is what I’d recommend) 15. Either drink/use straight away, refrigerate or freeze (I like to freeze some and pop some in the fridge) 16. If refrigerating you will be left with a layer of fat or oil on top the next day, you could use this for cooking but I like to remove it. You can add your chicken bone broth to soups, recipes or just heat up and drink. I also have a recipe on my page for bone broth hot cocoa. Enjoy :) Pan: @Morrisons #halal #halalfood #bonebroth #chicken #muslim #Recipe #antiinflammatory #healthyrecipes
Make halal bone broth hot chocolate with me… Recipe: 1 cup bone broth (I used home made lamb bone broth) 1 cup milk (I used semi skimmed but oat, coconut, full fat is fine) 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to taste (I used @greenandblacks organic cocoa powder) 1-2 tablespoons of honey (use any you like, this is Bentley honey from their beekeepers in Crewe) Vanilla extract to taste - you could replace honey for maple syrup or potentially add a sweetener if you’d like to Method: Add 1 cup milk to 1 cup bone broth in a saucepan Put on a low to medium heat Add 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder to taste and mix with some of the warm broth mixture to make a paste Add the paste to the saucepan and whisk well Add honey and vanilla essence to taste Whisk Leave simmering for 2-3 minutes for the mixture to meld together Serve and enjoy!
