Spend a day with me on the half term school ski trip ⛷️ So many people try and tell me that school trips are just free holidays in disguise and you might remember your teachers leaving you to it or going to the bar in the evening but trust me, those days are long gone! So why do we do it? Year 11 and 13 leavers days always gets me 😭 in part it’s the knowledge that I will never read that register out again, or have a class quite the same ever again, and in part of course, it’s the students themselves who, over the last 2 days, have tested my emotions with thoughtful messages in cards, kind gifts and requests to sign their shirts, amongst their goodbyes. My year 11s have been the only consistent class I’ve had since joining my current school 3 years ago, so they have quite literally been with me every step of the way, and my year 13s represent the first full cycle of students in my career (they would have been year 7s when I became a teacher, which also means my very first tutor group will also be leaving their school shortly so shout out to 7R 2018 starters too!!). They haven’t even sat their exams yet, and I’m already so proud of them and excited for their futures. You don’t need it, but good luck classes of 2025 🫶
