And she remembers exactly why she fell in love with him 6 years ago. The spice? 🥵🥵🥵 I’m not even sure a bed was used at any point in this book. Kane literally said EVERY SURFACE and he MEANT IT. No where was safe, private or not. When he wanted HIS GIRL, he had her. And she was more than willing to oblige. Kane is obsessed and possessive. But I don’t even care. He could suffocate me with his obsession and neediness any day. Once Daisy got over hating him and back to loving him, she realised that he was always the one for her. These two were perfect for each other in every way. The way they fought , loved and cared for each other made my heart swell. I loved being able to see characters from the previous books…I loved being getting a glimpse into who is coming next 🤭🤭 this whole series has me obsessed and I need them all to be real IMMEDIATELY!! I have loved Flynn since Comeback, and after this book I love him even more! This is an interconnected stand alone. You DO NOT need to read the previous books to understand this one…but the Holland brothers are AMAZING!! And you would be missing out big time if you didn’t go back and binge the series. Flynn is the youngest of the Holland brothers. He’s the sweetest , most golden retriever of all the brothers. A literal heart of gold and caring nature, despite the hardness he experienced growing up at the hands of his father. He’s an MLB pitcher who isn’t having the best go of things professionally. He gets pulled from a top team and sent to Arizona, where his family lives, to play for the underdog team of the league. He’s bummed but decides to make the best of it. Choosing to work hard and prove himself to everyone. What he isn’t expecting? To come face to face with the beautiful blonde he met one night in New York…the one he hasn’t been able to stop thinking about since that night. Olivia is a single mom and bookstore owner. She’s guarded and protective of sweet little, Greer. She’s prioritising her daughter over her personal life, sick of nothing but bad dates and untrustworthy men. Her jaw is ON THE FLOOR when she’s once again face to face with the hot baseball player she met one night in New York. Even more, he’s her best friends fiancés brother 🤭. But Olivia has no plans of falling for him. She’s got walls for days and is firm on putting her daughter first. But feelings don’t stay hidden for long, especially when Greer bonds with Flynn and Flynn makes sure to be there for BOTH of them whenever they need him. The build up between the two is slow, but warranted and perfect. Olivia is in no rush to trust and Flynn has no problem taking his time to show her that he’s not like the other men she’s met. He loves her and Greer with a fierceness that takes your breath away. Olivia can’t help but fall for Flynn and the way he loves her and her daughter. And Flynn is all in from the beginning. What I loved most about this book is that Greer was such a big part of the story. Her relationship and bond with Flynn was just as important as the relationship between Olivia and Flynn. The family that was formed between everyone in the book had me crying at times because it was so beautiful. Flynn and Olivia were so perfect for each other. Watching Olivia learn to trust and love again warmed my heart. Watching Flynn become the man that both Greer and Olivia needed was beautiful. The family they created together was perfection. By far my favorite book and couple of the series. I have ZERO notes. If you have never read a Laura Pavlov book, you are truly missing out. Montana is a wedding planner in…wait for it….BLUSHING, Alaska! 🥰🥰CAN YOU EVEN STAND IT?!?! A wedding planner based in Blushing, Alaska?? It’s absolute perfection! And Montana is PHENOMENAL at her job. She’s worked hard to make her dream a reality and business is BOOMING. Her personal life on the other hand? Not so great. She recently broke up with her boyfriend who is now engaged to marry someone else. GROSS BEHAVIOUR. On top of that, she finds out that some money hungry a**-hole has bought the local inn where she holds most of her weddings and is planning to tear it down to build some fancy resort. To say this girl needs a drink is an understatement. So that’s exactly what her friends do. They convince her to go out on the town and let loose…find a tourist and take him home for some…stress relief 😉 This isn’t exactly Montanas style. She’s definitely a relationship girl and has a BIG HEART…but, she meets a man who sparks her interest. Myles…Tall, dark, and handsome…sparks fly and she makes a bold decision to go home with him. Myles can tell right off the bat that Montana is not a one night stand kind of girl, and doesn’t want her making a decision that will hurt her in the long run…especially when he knows he’s not the relationship type and is only in town for a short time. But don’t worry….this man may not go all the way with her, but he ABSOLUTELY has other ways of making her scream his name. And she definitely does all night 🤭 The next day…after they part ways…the morning brings to light the reality of exactly who Myles is. Myles is mister money bags who bought the inn and is tearing it down. Montana immediately sees him as the enemy and that spark from the night before quickly turns to hate. Or does it?? Myles is definitely still interested and Montana tries to hate him but still somehow manages to flirt while cursing his existence. It had me CRYING LAUGHING watching the banter between these two 😂 Hate plus flirting turns into these two making a deal. Clearly they can’t resist each other. So…why not try the whole friends with benefits thing while Myles is in town…and Myles will help Montana figure out what to do with all her weddings that were SUPPOSED to take place at the inn. They end up spending a lot of time together while working and become friends…Myles helps Montana gain more confidence in herself and her abilities. Showing her that she isn’t limited to her surroundings and giving her the confidence to see bigger and better for herself. Montana learns about what holds Myles back from ever truly opening his heart to anyone. Showing him that he is more than the mistakes of his pants and definitely more than the mistakes of his family. If you’re a true romance reader you know things like this never stay casual and agreements RARELY follow the rules. Before they know it things are more intense and more real. But they both know there’s an expectation date on this. Myles eventually has go leave. But what happens when he does? Because now they are both emotionally invested…even if they don’t want to admit it. I won’t spoil the ending. Did you not torture us enough throughout the book??? Did we REALLY have to leave it like that 🥲🥲 Ok…seriously though…I’m obsessed. This might be one of the DARKEST, and most TWISTED books I’ve ever read and I ATE IT UP!! Be warned…the trigger warnings are there for a reason and the list is LONG…check it before embarking. This is slated as a dark romance, and yes…it’s on its way there…this is a duet…but I can honestly say the first part is very devoid of “romance”. Lust, chaos , and insanely morally black decisions and actions?? YES! So just be prepared. A morally BLACK, Mafia leader…Vlad is not your normal MMC. To say his past is traumatic is an understatement. He was genetically and psychologically engineered since a young boy to 💀. All it takes is the sight of blood or the wrong breeze of the wind to set him off. He’s been 💀 since he was 8 years old has no intentions of stopping, even if he could. The man has zero emotions, zero moral compass. His life is darkness and pain. But something changes one day when he runs into Sisi. Sisi, the ex nun whose soul was probably better suited for the devil than god. She’s living with her brother when she has an oddly entertaining “meet cute” with Vlad. Her brother immediately warns her to STAY AWAY from Vlad…he’s a psychopath and she needs to keep her distance. But Sisi is drawn to him and they immediately connect in a way neither of them has ever experience before. There is A LOT that happens in this book and I’m not going to spoil any of it. It’s a fast paced book that gets insane from the beginning. Neither of these MC’s are good people. I’m just going to say it. They are both morally black but I think that’s what draws them to each other. Their hearts are dark. They both have suffered in different ways. Yet, Sisi is able to be that light for Vlad…opening his heart only for her and showing him love for the first time. Vlad helps Sisi embrace her darkness and accept who she truly is. These two are both obsessive, possessive and unhinged. It’s insta lust from the minute they lay eyes on each other. I can see where the love may be coming into play, but Vlad truly has no capacity for love. Sisi is making him feel things and his obsession with her is deep and dark…is it love? I don’t know. But they both embrace it and it works for them. There is a lot of banter and push and pull between the two , which keeps the story interesting and keeps you sucked in. I’m still in SHOCK that THIS is a debut book. Goodness gracious, Tuesday James held NOTHING back and came right out of the gate swinging and I loved it. Hurt me…rip my heart out and put me back together. That’s how I like my books and this one did just that. Evie is the definition of a survivor. She married a man who turned out to be a monster. Their relationship was wrought with SA and DV…and when she finds out she’s pregnant, she makes the bravest and scariest decision of her life and RUNS. Six years later, she’s the mom of twin boys and settling in a new town. Everything she has done in the last six years has been to survive and provide for her boys. So when she lands in Thunder Ridge, she believes she’s finally found a place she can call home for her and her boys. Maddox is resident grump and hermit in Thunder Ridge, and he’s also Evie’s new neighbor. Needless to say, he’s not exactly thrilled to be living next to the bubbly and sweet, Evie and two busy six year olds…and he REALLY isn’t happy when one of the twins ends up on his roof. But when he realises that his gruff persona scares Evie, he decides to help her…offering her self defence classes in his gym…realising the same darkness and trauma in her that he has in himself. These are two VERY VERY broken and “damaged” people. They both have gone through their own trauma. Both have suffered more than any person ever should have to. And Tuesday does a beautiful job of writing, NOT TELLING, exactly how they are feeling and their struggles. They fall for each other fast, but not easily. There are a lot of walls they need to break through. A lot of pain and insecurities on both ends they need to navigate. And, a lot of secrets they need to open up about. They are great at communicating. Openly discussing triggers and fears. They know each other and navigate each other well. This isn’t a book where sex fixes problems. That passion and desire are definitely there…they learn and explore each other and Maddox helps Evie become confident in her sexuality again…showing her that sex doesn’t have to be scary or forced…that she is in control…which I thought was beautiful…but I really appreciated that even with that sexual connection, it wasn’t sunshine an daisies. They understood that for a relationship between them to truly work, there needed to be trust , honesty and communication. And they definitely had it. Now…with all that you would think this would be a 5 star read for me…and it absolutely WAS…until one MAJOR THING HAPPENED. All this talk of communication…openness….knowing each others triggers…one of Evie’s MAJOR triggers…belts…her ex would use a belt on her incessantly…even the sound of a belt would send her into a panic attack…Maddox knew this VERY WELL… so imagine my shock and horror when Maddox used her trigger against her while he was in a fit of anger over his grief about his daughter. I get it. He was upset. He was remembering the death of his daughter and there’s no real playbook on how to handle it. Grief comes in waves…but…that’s no excuse for what he did and said. I think I experienced every emotion reading this book. I felt emotionally drained after. Alora is our sweet, kind hearted FMC. She’s lived her life under the control of her father. Never allowed to truly explore who she is or even wants to be. Stuck in box to follow the line her father set for her. She’s the ultimate people pleaser…afraid to cross the line so she follows along to not make waves. She has POTs which puts a strain on her ability to do things but with the help of her best friend and service dog, Sunny, she’s able to find peace and comfort. She takes a gap year off before transferring to college and when she gets there she’s met with the face of her high school bully. Malik is our dark, mysterious and broody MMC. He’s popular and a hockey player god. He keeps his walls high and locked tight. But…the truth is…he’s a broken boy. Trauma and pain from his past have turned him cold…creating a rage in him that only seems to grow as time passes. The target of his anger and wrath is Alora. Secrets , lies and deceit plague him…making her the object of his hatred. He’s been her bully since high school, making her life even more of a living hell than it already was. Beneath all the hatred and pain though, is an undeniable pull towards each other that has always been there. But the hatred between the two stops things from ever evolving. He went through hell. He was so broken…carrying the weight of the world…secrets and lies…all on his shoulders from a young kid. Does it excuse his behaviour? No. But you understand why he did what he did…how his trauma and pain clouded his reasoning. These two start to communicate more. Their hate making way for their real feelings. I loved seeing Alora breaking down Maliks walls. The way she loved him despite the pain he caused her and understood his darkness. Malik loved her so fiercely…he was possessive and almost obsessed with her…he learned all about her health issues…making sure to be able to take care of her and understand her needs. I loved seeing Alora blossom into the woman she was always meant to be. Standing up for herself against her father and making sure he understood that he didn’t control her life anymore. It was such an empowering moment and I was so proud of her. Now…the SPICE!!! Malik is pure filth. He channeled that hate into every encounter and I was HERE FOR IT! Seeing glimpses of them…you could feel the tension and buildup in the small appearances they made and let me tell you…this book was EXPLOSIVE in every way! Riley…the sexy hockey stat with the slutty glasses (new favorite trope? Yes. Every man better own a pair of slutty glasses after this 😤). He’s at the top of his game when he suffers a tragic car crash and loses part of his leg. His world is obviously turned upside down. Having to learn to walk , skate…all over again. Depression and dark thoughts plague him…and my heart BROKE reading it. The way Chelsea was able to express and show the anguish that Riley was feeling at essentially losing everything and not knowing what to do next had me sobbing. It wasn’t that she just said it, she SHOWED IT…and that had me crying into my pillow in the middle of the night multiple times. His team rallied around him…never letting him feel like he’s alone. And when it’s time to start rehabbing, there’s only one person he wants and trusts…Lexi…the team athletic trainer, and the girl he’s been down bad for, for years. Lexi and Riley have been friends for years due to working together and being in the same friend group. Lexi is the bad a** FMC we know and love and absolutely come to expect from Chelsea. I read a review where someone was saying that Lexi wasn’t a girls girl snd showed no real care or love for Riley. She’s guarded…emotionally spent…the trauma from her past and present have her feeling unloveable and unwilling to get close to people…because in her mind, she believes that the ones she loves and cares about will inevitably leave…and she can’t take losing anyone else in her life. Jaxon is Madisons childhood best friend. Strong, unwavering. Everything you would want in a best friend. He knows her struggles and has always been there to be the shoulder she can lean on. I will admit though, Hawke and Ivy’s story was the perfect way to wrap things up. I have been waiting for their story…getting peaks and glimpses into their personalities and interactions throughout previous books. We finally get to see them full on and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! Hawke is hands down my favorite of the series. The ultimate Mafia bad-boy, playboy. Cold, ruthless…hiding his feelings and the weight of his past with drunken parties and a different woman in his bed every night. Ivy is basically a carbon copy of Hawke in female form. Ridiculously smart…a hacker just like her dad…dare I even say, BETTER than her dad? 🤭 I love a woman who is confident in her sexuality and in herself. She’s confident and never backs down. Hawke and Ivy have been dancing around the sexual tension between them since they crossed the line years before. But Hawke has been down bad for Ivy since he declared he would marry her when he was 16. The back and forth, can’t and mouse nature of their relationship was SO GOOD! Hawke had me screaming. This man is a ruthless killer but also a menace. Pushing Ivys buttons and completely obsessed with her at the same time. Ivy loved pushing Hawkes buttons too. She gave just as good as she got. And when she finally gave in, calling them a “THING” I was on the floor. I’m pretty sure Hawkes smile could be seen for miles away when she said that. Finally admitting that there was something between them that was real and true. This man loved her fiercely. He was never afraid to show not just her but the world. He was soft for her which I loved seeing. I loved how he brought all his walls down for her and showed her that it was ok to be vulnerable…that they could both be vulnerable with each other. Once he admitted his feelings and she admitted hers, there was no one else in the world that could take the others place. She was all he saw. And that made her feel so loved for the first time in her life. Now…the SPICE?!? These two were FILTHY! Ivy was not about to lay there and let him take control the whole time. The power struggle between them in bed was so hot…she was his good girl, but…he was HER GOOD BOY! 🥵🥵 I was fanning myself with every scene! The book had the perfect amount of suspense mixed in with passion. When Ivy finds herself in danger, Hawke is there to protect his girl with his life. The true definition of a man burning the world down for his woman. And the ending?y heart…seeing these two settling down in “normalcy” and a true loving relationship? I may have shed a tear ! I thought I was prepared…I thought I was rest for the ending of this series and for Alex and Olives story but I was so wrong. I was not ready. I was not prepared and I have not recovered. It took me a few days to get through this book because it emotionally was tearing me up…which I LOVE…but is also the reason I have a hidden grey streak in my hair at 29 🙃 this is the 5th and FINAL book in the Lindon U series…and you do not have to read the others to understand this one…but we do get introduced to this couple in one of the earlier books. Olive and Alex are in a forbidden situationship. No strings. No feelings. Just fun. Perfect for two busy college students…especially when the guy you’re sleeping with is your brothers arch nemesis. Things are going great, until they aren’t. Olive admits to Alex that she’s developed feelings for him even though the plan was NO FEELINGS…Alex isn’t sure what to do and started to pull away. Alex is graduating college and getting ready to enter the NHL, so he decides it’s better to break things off especially with her revealing her feelings for him…Olive is heartbroken and shuts down all communication with him. My heart broke for Olive. She’s such a strong and confident girl. She’s plus size but has learned how to love herself and say f it to those people who mock her…she’s living life for her and on her terms. Which is why seeing how heartbroken she was over Alex broke me. She went out on a limb and shared her heart only to get shut down. But the thing is…Alex is hiding a lot…and there’s more behind their breakup than just her having feelings because he has them too. A year later, Alex is in the NHL and back home for a visit and a mission…to get his girl back…and he’s very aware that it won’t be easy. Olive is bewildered as to why this man is in her messages and wants to ignore him, but when he’s telling her he needs her, those old feelings come flooding back. Opening the flood gates for secrets revealed, real heart to heart confession and heat that will literally make you sweat. Both Alex and Olive have a lot of past trauma. Poor Alex…hearing his story and the weight he’s been carting his whole life just makes you want to hug him and never let go. There’s always such pain when kids have to essentially parent their parents…carrying the burden of being a care taker and provider when they are barely understanding how to take care of themselves. There’s a lot of mental health topics and 💀 discussed so please heed your trigger warnings. We get a lot of found family vibes and I mean A LOT. I love all the side characters and how they all rallied around both Olive and Alex. Sometimes…friends are stronger and better family than your actual family. And that’s exactly what we see here. Alex and Olive come together and let me tell you…Olive makes this man WORK as she should! I was so proud of her, and HIM! Olive truly knew her worth and wasn’t about to let Alex just walk back in without proving he knew her worth too. He did the work and got the girl and I was crying tears of joy. It was hard road back to each other And there were times where I wasn’t sure if Alex was going to make headway with Olive…especially since there was someone else very interested and very attentive when it came to her. The wait was torture and had me stalking Jessica Lyn’s socials like a fiend…but it was well worth it because this book was everything I wanted and needed. We aren’t talking about the cliffhanger that Jessica leaves us on because….girl…why do you hate me? But also…I love the torture so keep it coming 🤭 this is the second book in the obsessed players club and you one million percent need to read it before diving into this one. We kick off right where the first book left off and you need all the back story or you will be lost. Plus the first book is just as addicting so it’s a no brainer that you should read it. We pick back up with Ethan, Jackson and Aurora… my babies…all of them. Jackson…this man needs so much love and about a million hugs. Learning about his backstory and delving deeper into the depravity that he had to endure because of his father had me actually sobbing. Like that painful can’t breathe kind of sob. I know in book one he did some pretty awful things to Aurora…and there’s no excusing that…but when you realise the extent of his trauma, you begin to understand why he did what he did and why to him it felt almost necessary. When you are so deep into your trauma and have nothing else to base your decisions or actions on, you fall back on what you know. And it was all the wrong things. Jackson deep down knew it was wrong…his love and obsessive need for Aurora had him fighting himself on what was right and what was wrong. And even when he knew he was wrong, he couldn’t help himself. It’s not surprising that he fell into substance abuse given his past. But with the help of Aurora and Ethan, he’s finally making headway to be better. Aurora…precious girl. I related to her way more than I wanted to. As someone who has struggled my whole life with diagnosed severe anxiety and abandonment issues…I could feel her pain radiating off the page. Jessica did such an amazing job really SHOWING the reader that internal struggle rather than just telling you. And I think that’s what makes Aurora such a strong character. That struggle you feel when you want to be calm…you want to trust…you want to believe…but your brain simply will not allow you to. Even when the proof is in front of you. Add in the fact that Aurora is now pregnant, her anxiety and abandonment is through the roof. She’s on edge just waiting for the bottom to fall out with Ethan and Jackson, and the chaos surrounding Jackson’s father. Ethan….daddy. He’s daddy. Fight me. This man is the glue that holds the three of them together. He’s strong and patient and gives them what they need without them having to ask for it. I loved seeing how Ethan and Jackson’s relationship evolved and grew. Honestly I didn’t know if it would ever happen. I was half expecting Ethan to steal Aurora away once they found out she was pregnant, just to keep her safe from Jackson. But he took a step back and really looked at their dynamic. And realised that without Jackson…there’s no Aurora. And without him…there’s no them. They need each other. This book had me scrambling to find all the ones that came before it add to my TBR. The minute I read GRUMPY, I was in. There’s nothing I love more than a broody grumpy man who goes all in for his woman and Atlas is exactly that !! Sutton is our FMC and I absolutely love her. Shes a single mom of a 16 year old girl and a travel nurse (which as a travel nurse myself I LOVED seeing 🥹). She’s spunky and full of life. Working hard to provide the best life she can for her girl. I absolutely love the relationship between Sutton and her daughter, Laurel. Everyone was saying it had “Gilmore Girl” vibes, and please don’t hate me….but I’ve never seen the show 🫣…but the vibes between Laurel and Sutton were perfection. I wish I had a mom like Sutton. Atlas is the ultimate grump and I love that for him…and for me 🤭 he’s a former pro football player turned high school football coach. He’s guarded and enjoys the silence of his own company. One night while he’s out of town he meets a fiery single mom…Sutton. They are staying at the same hotel and keep running into each other…which culminates in them spending one RIDICULOUSLY hot night together. When morning comes they part ways and that’s that. Or so they think. Sutton is moving to her a new sleepy town called Starlight Cove for her 6 month contract at their hospital. She moves in to her cute little cottage that they have set up for her with her daughter. And as she’s getting settled, she meets her new landlord…none other than her hot one night stand…Atlas. She’s shocked…he’s pissed and Laurel is sitting back laughing at the drama unfold 😂 To say they don’t get off on the right foot is an understatement. The tension between them is intense. And Atlas is grump to the max…not wanting to be bothered with Sutton or her cheerfulness. But he can only fight it for so long…and these two are slipping into each others beds nightly. Things get even more complicated when Suttons cottage floods and she and Laurel have to move in with Atlas. Atlas is struggling. This man loved her like his own. Never letter her feel like she was lacking anything just because her dad wasn’t around. They pushed each others buttons and it was so funny to see him fall into the dad role. But he was such a natural. And getting to see the second gen characters has been such a full circle moment…there are not enough words to express how much I love this whole series and all the characters in it…yes…even the ones I wanted to strangle at times 🤭 We FINALLY get Augusts book…and let me tell you. He didn’t disappoint. There is no doubt that he is Whitts son 😍 all the possessive , broody and obsessive vibes…total alpha hole…but August definitely has a softer side deep down…he just refuses to acknowledge it. The book is set in a dual time line but it’s very easy to follow along. We meet Sinclair during her freshman year at Lancaster Prep. She’s the new girl…scrawny…plain looking…and she immediately catches the attention of the school’s senior GOD…August Lancaster. Hurtful words get thrown around and Sinclair becomes the target of Augusts bullying…making her freshman year a living hell. Fast forward 4 years and Sinclair is entering her freshman year at university…her world comes crashing down when she runs into none other than August Sinclair at a frat party. August has no clue who she is…he doesn’t recognise her…4 years has changed Sinclair from a plain Jane to a stunning woman. Sinclair is ENRAGED that after all that time spent bullying her, August doesn’t remember her. But she vows to stay as far away from him as possible. At least that’s her plan 🥲 It doesn’t take long for August to realise just who Sinclair is, and when he sees her, he is hell bent on continuing his reign of torture on her. But Sinclair is not the same little girl from high school. She’s all grown up and is done taking Augusts crap. Tensions run HIGH with these two. And I’m not going to lie…the inner monologues in Augusts head had me crying laughing 😂 this man is so down bad for Sinclair. His hate is just him trying to push his feelings for her away. He’s been in love and obsessed with her since he first met her, but he REFUSES to allow himself to feel it so instead he’s just an a hole 😂. But the way he FIGHTS with himself in his head has me on the floor in tears. This man hates feelings 😂 This book is very little to no drama…which I loved. The most drama you’ll have is the fact that Sinclair parents are trash. But we just move on from it because August is there and he’s taking care of his woman no matter what. These two navigate their feelings and past hurts in a way that’s beautiful and chaotic all at the same time. Sinclair is able to break through Augusts walls and he’s able to finally admit that he loves and adores her…always has and always will. And trust me…this man has no problem showing it to her over and over again 🥵 he’s probably even more delicious than his father and I am here for it. It must be bully season because all these bully romances have me THRIVING in my enemies to lovers era. This book was perfection. But you would be 100000% wrong In thinking this is anything like what you have read before. I PROMISE! You have never met a man like Saint Devereaux and you never will. I ate this book up in one sitting and to say I am thoroughly obsessed with Saint and this book would be a complete understatement. And not just Saint…Lennon brings new meaning to women standing up for themselves…and watching her come into her own was nothing short of inspiring. Lennon is the PERFECT daughter. From an affluent family in New Orleans society, her life has been carefully mapped out for her by her father (we hate him btw). She’s even the golden child of the universities purity club. But Lennon hits her breaking point when her father insists she get back together with her cheating ex bf in order to keep up appearances and form a strong family alliance. Lennon would rather dive into the gator infested bayou than do that. So she decides to turn to the one person she knows who can help. Saint is no saint. Literally…the man is pure sin on legs and he knows it. The universities resident hockey bad boy. His bed has seen more action than Mardi Gras and honestly…good for him. He’s got the skills and the ladies love him. All the ladies except for one…Lennon. And trust me…he’s not a fan of hers either. He’s got a massive grudge against her and her family for things that have torn his own family apart. So when Lennon approaches him with a fake dating arrangement to get her father to understand he can’t control her life anymore, he seizes the opportunity. Seeing it as his in to get revenge on her father for what he’s done to his family. But we all know how things like this go. Who will break first. Who will be the first to admit that this might not be as fake as they planned. Throughout the book we see Lennon go toe to toe with Saint. She may be an innocent virgin but she’s not falling for his playboy ways so easily. And that just makes Saint want her more. It’s definitely a slow burn. But it’s full of teasing and tension that will have you gasping for air. When they finally do give in though ?? 🥵🥵 the athletic tape? The JEWELLERY?? The penalty box?? I blushed getting into an elevator earlier just thinking about this book 🤭🤭 It’s not just smut and heat though. Maren dives deep into Saints back story and you truly get to see that this guy has been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders since he was 14. The complexities of how the rich and privileged take advantage of those who have less and don’t care about the fallout or how it affects not just them but their families. There’s a lot of trauma to unpack for Saint…and you can’t help but feel your heart break for him and what he’s had to go through. You understand why he is the way he is and realise he’s truly just a broken boy trying to protect himself from any further pain and hurt. Lennon has had it rough too but in a different way. Her life being controlled and never having the opportunity to discover who she is and what SHE truly wants. She’s a captive in her own home…her own family…all under the guise of love and protection. But really she’s just a pawn in her father’s game of power.
