My accident 🙌🏼.. My official statement on my ‘accident’. I don’t blame anyone, especially not the horse. Horses don’t ‘pre think’ of ideas.. that horse wasn’t thinking “Hmm, I’ll kick this lady really hard and kill her”.. it clearly wasn’t happy about something, trying to communicate and I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. 322 days ago.. 322 days of trying to remember how to live/ function and get back on my feet 🙌🏼 So close now! My love for horses is just as strong as it was back then! Especially thanks to my best mate ‘Classie Brigade’ who was kindly flown over (Christchurch- Melbourne) for me after my accident! And has stuck right by my side 🤗.. I am so lucky to have another shot at ‘life’ I’m NEVER taking anything for granted ever again. Huge thank you to the Melbourne medical team! For taking a New Zealander on, giving her the best treatment and treating her like one of ‘your own’ will forever be in debt to Australia! 2025 is the year I bounce back and start making an impact on the horse world in Melbourne 🥰

Safe to say I cried a lot this afternoon, happy tears. For the first time in 11 months.. I felt like me again 😭🙌🏼.. she’s back. Wasn’t at all the most graceful! My horse is a total living legend for allowing me to flop over him!

Classie Brigade and I (Laura Burrell) back to it! So excited to be back in the saddle 🙌🏼! Pushing my ‘rehab’ that little bit harder! As he is too.. with his very ‘opinionated’ & ‘quirky’ personality! But I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way! As I said in the video, it’s funny how the ex-racehorse rehomer got ‘stuck’ with the quirky one 🫣😂! Luckily he is very loved by me quirks and all, he’s forever bringing a smile to my face 🥰
